January 30, 2025

CURE International's work strengthens healthcare systems and brings healing to children and families across Sub-Saharan Africa. Their CURE Hydrocephalus Project aims to improve under-5 mortality and increase access to essential health services for children with disabilities through CURE's global network of pediatric surgical hospitals. This project focuses specifically on children with hydrocephalus in Uganda through the provision of comprehensive neurosurgical services.

Their efforts have already provided care for 628 patients in the region, and generated 2,386 VIAs (specifically VIA 3.2.1 Improve health and reduce mortality), but their project could always use more support. CURE's Ugandan hospital has experienced a forty-five percent increase in admissions and surgeries over the past five years, and is currently undertaking a multiyear expansion to grow its facilities and medical and ministry teams to meet the increasing need for expert neurosurgical care in the country and across the continent.
